Cobra Engineering 4V Passenger Side Secondary Tensioner Body
The Cobra Engineering 4V Secondary Tensioner Body is designed to correct the OEM chain tension issues on the passenger side. The issue is that from the facotry, both the Driver and Passenger side secondary chains are tensioning downward.
Since the Primary Sprocket on the Driver side is to the right of the tensioner and the chain is moving in a clockwise direction, it is pulling the top of the chain tight, therefore the tensioner at the bottom is the correct move. However, tensioning the chain on the bottom when the Primary Drive Sprocket is to the left of the tensioner in a clockwise direction is incorrect. Since the Primary drive on the Passenger side is pulling the secondary chain from the left side, it will pull the chain tight and max out the tensioner during hard acceleration. The slack will all be at the top, where the tension should have been. This can throw the camshaft timing off quite a bit on the right bank.
While this issue isn't a make or break deal, it can easily be corrected and this tensioner body is an excellent upgrade to consider if you have everything apart already. There is some power to be picked up with this modification if the camshafts are degreed correctly.
