NICKS UGLY DUCKLINGS

After buying large batches of cores for a few years we reject about 10% for issues that are more cosmetic than anything else.  We used to use these cores for family and friends, but with more than we can handle we are discounting them tremendously and our $10 flat rate shipping applies here as well.  The issues with these cores are such that mechanically they are perfect, but have had to be repaired in one way or another such as below:

 

Head has a scratch/groove in one of more of the cam bore journals.  In a case like this we polish/hone the journal back to spec and the scratch/groove will "hold extra oil"  If really bad it will get a cam bearing installed.

Head arrives with 1 or 2 plug threads damaged and we installed Timeserts only in those chambers.

Head needed welding inside of the chamber or deck surface.  We do this all the time to repair customers damaged heads but we do not use these cores for our regular sales.  Welding is done in such a way that you would be hard pressed to see that any work was done and mechanically is 100% sound.

Head has cosmetic issues on the outside.  This happens sometimes with cores from the rust belt.  They are perfect on the inside and all gasket surfaces, but any surface exposed to road salt is rough appearing.

 

Heads could have any or all of the above.  At these prices we cannot pick through them if you are wanting something specific, sorry!  All repairs/issues are listed in the sales ads below, we will list one set of each style at a time (while we have supplies).  These heads will make the same power and be just as reliable as our regular heads.  If you get the head and cams combo package it is done the exact same as our regular combo including new Bullet cams of your choice, rebuilt OEM lash adjusters and new TFS adjustable crank gears.  Once the valve covers are bolted down only you would know how much was saved by the added weight in your wallet!
