Nicks Bio

Some of the nonsense and stuff not cared about has been deleted!

"Ol Yeller"

My first Mustang I bought when I was 17.  I didn't know anything then but learned the hard way that this was a 1966 6 cylinder Mustang that had the entire powertrain and suspension from a 1969 swapped into it including a 351W 4 barrel, Toploader 4 speed, and 9" rear with a 4.10 Tracloc.  Because of this I got into Mustangs.  Sadly this is the only surviving picture from around 1987-1988.

"Fastback"

I was the 3rd owner of this 120,000 mile 1965 289 Fastback that had all the options including an original Pony interior and air conditioning.  Car originally came from California.  I installed a mild autoX style suspension, hotrodded the 289, and made it a nice street driver.  It was stolen in 1995 and never recovered.

VF101 "Grim Reapers"

This was a F-14 training squadron that I was attached to while attending a specialized electronics school.  These were always my favorite birds and to be able to work on them even if only a few months was a treat.  If they were not leaking large amounts fluids while on the ground, something was wrong..........

VAQ-209 "Star Warriors"

"In your space without a trace"

I spent 3 years working on these EA6B aircraft.  This one pictured has all fuel tanks for a long distance run.  The combat configuration would have electronic countermeasure pods where you see the fuel tanks.  I worked on the electronic countermeasures system of this aircraft.  My favorite memory of these was engine starts and being the one at the side rear to signal when it was lit.........

University of South Florida

Graduated with a bachelor's in Environmental Science.  I once saw an article on this guy whose job was fishing for the state and getting paid for it, after graduating I went into an entirely different field you see below.  While going to college I worked at a couple different engine shops and picked up quite a bit of the knowledge I use now.

AT&T tv commercial that aired during Super Bowl XXXVI

I designed and built the large speaker cabinet behind the model.  It was not a very good commercial IMHO but who can say something they created was used as a prop and viewed by millions?  After college I had started an audio company, sadly it was just before that market all but disappeared.  I designed the bass drivers, helped on the patented horn design, designed and built a magnet charger capable of a "lot" of joules to build them from scratch, etc.

Modularheadshop

I have always ported heads on the side for people and after being laid off twice in 2 years decided to see what I could do on my own again.

This story is still unfolding........

"Budget Mod Motor Build

The Mod Motor Rocks"

April 2010 CarCraft

First time in print with an in depth article on engines.  I grew up reading all the car magazines (way back in them days there was no internet) and this was a treat indeed.

Nick's Avatar

If you see me on a forum this is the avatar I generally use.  No this is not a picture of me, it is the late Alfred Hawthorn Hill otherwise known simply as Benny Hill.  He was a popular comedian in the 1970s and 1980s.  You can learn more about him here.  I have to admit I watched every show of his growing up, for better or for worse!
