Dyno comparisions

 

I hear everyday some wants to hit some certain peak power number from a roller dyno under uncontrolled weather conditions.  For one you cannot compare dyno numbers from one shop to another especially if they are located in different states.  Here is a discussion on a 13% difference in dynos in the same city:

Then consider that the dyno can also be "tweeked" by the operator to produce higher numbers, one should finally realize that a dyno run is a tool for tuning and tweeking the car and little more.  Here is a thread showing what I considered to be inflated numbers and some interesting comments from an experienced dyno tuner:
